Andesa Services, a leading provider of comprehensive, integrated policy administration, plan administration and support solutions for life insurance and annuity carriers and producers, recently hosted its fifth annual Client Forum at the Hyatt Regency at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia.
The September event, themed “Coming into Focus: The Past Driving the Future,” was attended by dozens of representatives from leading life insurance carriers and distributors. The event featured presentations from industry, business and legislative leaders, updates from Andesa and discussions on changes in the marketplace due to evolving regulations and their impact on the COLI/BOLI, life insurance and executive benefits industries.

Highlights from the Client Forum
Providing the Forum’s keynote address was Peter Ricchiuti, PhD and professor at Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business. Dr. Ricchiuti provided an entertaining overview of the state of the economy and indicated all signs are pointing to positive strides.
“Are we going into a double-dip recession?” he asked. “I don’t see it at all. Everyone thinks the economy is shrinking. It’s not. It’s growing … just not fast enough.”
Other industry speakers included Jim Van Epps, Founder, and Toby Newkirk, Managing Director, both of First Principles Capital Management, and Nathan Herring, Managing Director, PNC. All three served on a panel that discussed the “Regulatory Environment Impact on BOLI.”
In addition, Justin Brown, Assistant Vice President of Legislative Affairs of AALU, provided an “Update from Washington;” Mario Moussa, PhD, MBA, Co-director of the Wharton Strategic Persuasion Workshop and co-author or The Art of Woo: Using Strategic Persuasion to Sell Your Ideas, discussed the science behind strategic persuasion; Chuck Johnston, Research Director at Celent, discussed “Pressures, Priorities and Innovation” in the industry; and Frank Zacherl, Partner at Shutts & Bowen LLP, provided a talk about “Keeping out of Court with E-Signatures.”
