Andesa at the Girls in STEM Symposium 2025
On October 28, 2025, Andesa proudly participated in the annual Girls in STEM Symposium at Kutztown University. Designed to spark interest in careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), the event brought students and professionals together for meaningful, career-focused discussions.
Marking our fifth consecutive year attending, Andesa joined 15 local organizations at the Symposium, which drew the largest student turnout to date. Mona Uguccioni, Senior Quality Assurance Analyst, and Alyssa Swiezak, Human Resources Administrator, represented our team. They connected with students, answered questions, and shared their personal career journeys.
Mona’s Perspective:
“I had the opportunity to attend this event a few years ago and felt excited to return. The students brought great energy and interest. I appreciated the chance to discuss available opportunities, share my experiences, and answer thoughtful questions. Their engagement made each conversation valuable.”
Alyssa’s Perspective:
“This event inspired me. The energy from the students was contagious. I saw their eyes light up as they realized the variety of STEM opportunities they could pursue. They asked insightful questions, shared their goals, and expressed a strong desire to learn and grow. This experience reminded me why I enjoy my work and how we can influence the next generation.”
A Shared Commitment to Mentorship & Representation
Andesa prioritizes opportunities to guide and support future leaders. At the Symposium, our team helped students envision their place in STEM fields and demonstrated how careers in insurtech and life insurance can intersect with technology and innovation.
We participated in discussions on cloud-based platforms, digital transformation, and the importance of data security in financial services. These conversations showed students how the STEM skills they develop today can create meaningful impact in tomorrow’s workforce.
Championing Collaboration & Future Talent
Our team valued the opportunity to engage with students and collaborate with professionals and educators who share our commitment to nurturing talent and breaking down barriers in STEM. Together, we encouraged the girls to pursue their passions with confidence and to envision themselves as future innovators and leaders.
The Symposium reaffirmed the importance of mentorship, support, and inclusion in today’s workplace. We appreciated the chance to contribute and will continue to empower young women as they build their futures in STEM!
